1. Quantitative research – design and conduct of a survey of enterprises
The survey concerns enterprises in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. It is planned to conduct the study using two samples, selected according to the following criteria:
• first sample – small and medium-sized enterprises,
• second sample – large enterprises.
A proportional allocation of the research sample was applied, based on the number of entities within each stratum: manufacturing, service, and trading enterprises.
2. Quantitative study – a study of Technology Transfer Centers
The comprehensive survey concerns Technology Transfer Centers operating in Poland that are members of the Agreement of Academic Technology Transfer Centers.
3. Qualitative research – in-depth interviews, development of a case study on the Technology Transfer Centre
The development of 10 case studies will enable the identification of best practices regarding the operation of Technology Transfer Centers (TTCs)—specifically concerning their engagement with the socio-economic environment, the direction of innovative research, and the processes for supporting innovators through the stages of identifying needs, developing new solutions, and commercialization. The analysis and evaluation will focus on mechanisms for aligning a university’s research potential with the needs of the economy, as well as on channels for technology transfer and communication.
4. Qualitative research – expert panel
The purpose of this study is to gather expert opinions on the direction of innovation development, evaluate the results of survey research, and provide forecasts regarding collaboration between academic institutions and the business sector. The selection of experts for the panel ensures representation from regional, national, and international researchers and technology developers, as well as entrepreneurs and representatives of social organizations.
5. Observatory of Innovation Processes
The Innovation Processes Observatory will serve as an electronic platform for interactive communication between the PBS Technology Transfer Centre (TTC) and participants from the socio-economic environment.
On one hand, the platform will function as a channel for the TTC, outlining the specific stages of the innovation creation and commercialization process; on the other, it will provide a space for external stakeholders to engage in dialogue—allowing them to submit their needs, questions, and concerns.
